“...God gave His only Son…”
The cross is the sign of salvation because when he was lifted up on the tree of a cross Jesus drew everyone to himself. He humbled himself even to the death of a criminal on a cross to show His love for His Father and for each one of us. Now we acclaim Jesus as Lord to the glory of the Father.
Reading the homily of a priest friend this morning I was comforted by these words which I want to share with you...
"...Today is not so much about suffering as about faith; having faith to believe that the crucified Christ can and does heal; that we can look upon Him with confidence; that, lifted up on the cross He invites us to put our trust in Him, and that He will not fail us..." © AK 2008
