This photo must have been taken about 1984, prior to the renovations which took place the following year. As can be seen in this photograph, the original altar is still intact and a wooden altar stands on the top step of the sanctuary. This wooden altar made it appearance in the early 70's, when the changes, in the way mass was said facing the congregation, were made.
